June McIvor specializes in business, real estate, and financing transactions and counseling. Her experience at a top-tier law firm, as in-house counsel, and as an entrepreneur gives her unique expertise to assist clients in structuring their business and related transactions to reach their goals. June joined the firm as a principal in December 2003.

Representative Accomplishments:

* Represented Italian buyer of Northern California materials manufacturer
* Lead counsel for renewable energy company in a $40 million equity investment by Norwegian corporation
* Local counsel for national energy company in land use permitting issues for $700 million project
* Represented local investor in new agricultural technology company, including accompanying exclusive distribution rights
* Won appeal before Board of Supervisors for lot split after denial of applicant’s submission at staff and planning commission levels
* Counseled Santa Maria construction-related company in corporate reorganization to maximize liability protection
* Managed international trademark portfolios of sporting equipment retailer and food manufacturer
* Counseled numerous parties in shareholder buy-outs
* Advised a variety of family businesses in structure and succession issues
* Assisted many clients with entity formation and negotiation of operating agreements and shareholder agreements

Background:

June served as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Organizing Committee. She was intimately involved with every aspect of the tournament, from filling the stadiums for the largest women’s sporting event in history to making “Women’s World Cup” a household phrase. Her particular focus was on business and legal operations: negotiating major corporate and sponsorship partnerships for the Committee, shaping marketing and ticketing strategy, negotiating stadium leases, managing the seven venues across the country which staged Women’s World Cup games in 1999, and overseeing the championship venue in 2003.

In her role as General Counsel of Major League Soccer (MLS), June was a member of the founding team that launched the premier professional men’s soccer league in the U.S. The league’s groundbreaking single entity structure required June’s legal oversight of, and counsel to, the league and all ten teams.

Prior to working with MLS, Ms. McIvor was Vice President of Legal Affairs for World Cup USA 1994, hailed as the most successful World Cup ever. She has also been an entrepreneur, serving as President and CEO of Allegra, Inc., a company formed to establish a women’s sports television network in the U.S.

June began her legal career as an associate at the Los Angeles law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where she specialized in real estate issues, leveraged buyouts, and corporate acquisitions.

June lives in San Luis Obispo with her husband, Duane Hall, and their daughter, Kaylie.
